Show 'T ' Knk,V Assigned to Duty On Carrier v v f "': First Lt. James L. Knight Among the first Leatherneck pilots pi-lots assigned to carrier duty in the Pacific is First Lieutenant James L. Knight, 23, of Delta. While some Marine squadrons served aboard carriers during peacetime, all were shore-based immediately after Pearl Harbor. Now, for the first time in the 33 years of Marine Corps aviation, flying Leathernecks have met the enemy while serving as shipboard fighters. A Delta high school graduate, Knight enlisted in June, 1942. He is the son of Mrs. Nora T. Knight, Delta, Utah. |
