Eddy, the case was dismissed upon the ground and for the reason that the State had failed to present sufficient suf-ficient evidence, or any evidence, which would warrant holding the defendant to answer to the District Dist-rict Court. Defendant LaMar Ross was ordered discharged and his bail bond exonerated. LaMar Ross, who was brought here some time ago by local officers offi-cers from Delta, Utah, appeared in justice court before Judge William Will-iam Willis last Saturday, and Judge Willis set the preliminary hearing for Wednesday afternoon, February Febru-ary 21, and the bail bond at $2500. Inspector Ward Swain of the Nevada State Police filed a charge of manslaughter against Ross, after a long and careful investigation by enforcement officers. The complaint com-plaint alleged that Ross was driving driv-ing the vehicle which on November Novem-ber 1, 1842, struck Cpl. George Webster Little on the main highway high-way just north of what is now Club Fifty, and caused injuries which later caused the death of the soldier. sol-dier. Nevada State Journal |
