Show Ilinckley Mrs. Harriet Spendlovo Mrs. Robert Mares returned Monday Mon-day from a visit with her daughter there, as well as with other relatives relat-ives and friends. Mr. Wayne Ireland of Salt Lake City was a visitor at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Ireland. Wallace Gray of Central, visited last week at the home of his sis-.ter sis-.ter here In Hinckley, Mrs. Gilbert Carter. Visiting this week, arriving on Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rob-ert Slaughter of Rock Springs, Wyo. The Slaughters are former residents resid-ents of Hinckley. Mrs. Roberta Carter returned this week after visiting in Huntington Hunt-ington with her mother, Mrs. Martha Mar-tha Anderson and with her sister in Castle Dale. To visit his sister, Mrs. Nephi Stewart and with other relatives here was the purpose of a visit made on Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. Albin Pearson ot Midvaie. Mrs. Chester Sly and Mrs. Frank Bishop spent a few days last week in Salt Lake City engaged in Orien tation work at the Veterans' hospital hos-pital there for Post 117 of the American Legion Auxiliary. They are now eligible to do volunteer work at the hospital at various intervals. A party was held at the home o'f Mr. and Mrs. Byron Carter last Friday night, it being a farewell for Jeff Carter, who enlisted in the Navy. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Loren Talbot, Mr. and Mrs. Pearson Stewart, Stew-art, Mr. and Ms. Merrill Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Kennard Carter, Rex Carter, Mrs. Jack Larsen, Jerolene Larsen and Kitty Carter. Jeff took his physical examination examinat-ion on Monday and will go directly from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles Also enlisted in the Navy is Lee Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvert Da vi s.-Leslie s.-Leslie Fay Webb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie webb left last week to go to Logan where he will be a student there at the USAC. Mary and Johnny Moody, daughter daugh-ter and son of Mr. Bryant Moody are now students at the Dixie Junior Jun-ior College in St. George. Elma Kaye Workman is also a student at Dixie. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Workman are planning to spend the winter in St. George this year also. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Theobald left Tuesday evening to go to the Fairfield Fair-field Air Base at Suisan, California Californ-ia to visit with their son, Ed, who was wounded in Korea and is now in the hospital there. Ed received a shrapnel wound below the knee. They were driven there by Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Draper and they will also visit with Mr. and Mrs. Don Ireland who live in San Francisco, Fran-cisco, Mrs. Ireland being a daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Theobald's. Mr. T. George Theobald is now at his home, after having spent a month at Salt Lake City under medical observation. He plans to go back to Salt Lake City in two more weeks for' further medical treatment. Roe Buhanan entertained Monday Mon-day for the fourth birthday of her son, Carl Ray, at a party for his many little friends. On Tuesday Mrs. Lynn Talbot honored her son Michael's sixth ' birthday by having a party for 'him. Many guests called and had an enjoyable time. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bohn have moved into the home of Kenneth Damron to live with him and his son, Michael through ' the winter. Vicki Damron is spending the winter win-ter with her aunt in Delta, Mrs. Wilma Searle. Mrs. Grace Warnick and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Warnick were visitors in Hinckley Sunday. Mrs. Warnick just returned to her home in Delta after an extended visit in Moscow, Idaho and with her son who teaches there and also with her other son who teaches at the University of Oregon. Mrs George Ekins, Mrs. William Pratt and Mrs. L. R. Cropper were Provo shoppers Saturday. Mr. Ladd Cropper motored to Santaquin Tuesday to sing at a funeral there. Lars Bishop has now gone to Ephraim to begin his year at the Snow College and Jane Cahoon, Patricia Pratt and Joyce Theobald entered the BYU at Provo. Sunday morning the two and one half minute talks were given by Sherry Morris and by Gale Bennett. Ben-nett. On Sunday evening the program was furnished by Sisters Fannie Maxfield, Lyda Webb, Mary Reeve and Lydia Ekins, who spoke on the first principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ; with the closing prayer being given by Sister Melba Nielson. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hilton and Mr. and Mrs Hugh Hilton were visited by Mr. and Mfrs. Allen; Mrs. Allen being the former Hazel Hilton, a sister to Hugh and Roy. |
