Show CLARKSTON TO CELEBRATE THEJOURTH Clarkston, June 29. There will bo a Fourth of July celebration at i Clarkston. Saluting and rising of tho j flag at daybreak by twelve of our young men; marshal of the day, Mr. R. F. Shumway; Miss Pearl Buttars, Goddess of Liberty; maids of honor, Jennie Thompson, Suslo Clark, Hattlo Buttars, Sylvia Griffith, Jeiinlo Dahle and Etta Godfrey. There will be six cars arranged with the national col-J ora to escort goddess and her maids and brass band to tho meeting houso, whero the program will be rendered at 3 p. m. Singing by congregation; chaplain, James B. Jardlno; "Star-Spangled "Star-Spangled Banner" by J. M. Larsen; opening address, Bishop Ravsten; solo, Miss Sarah Clark; oration, Pro-' fessor Merrill of Preston; music by band; quartet, Sarah Shumway and ! coinpany; benediction. Aftornoon ! sports; Dance 2:30 p. m.; baseball game, 4:30 p. m.; foot races and prizes for children; horse races, concluding con-cluding with a grand ball in the evening. even-ing. President Merrill and Secretary Hendricks, of tho Benson stako, were tho speakers at the afternoon meeting meet-ing on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Godfrey aro rejoicing over the safe arrival of a baby boy. Alt concerned aro doing nicely. |
