Show NEW SCHEME To secure Good Roads on the South. Eimoit Hki'uiimuan: If jou will grant me space In vour valuable paper 1 would like to advance a scheme for grading our county roads from Logan to Avon and Wellsvllle. Is Is a voluntary vol-untary woik and here is the plan. During the next twelve months we want the following towns to furnish the following number of teams ten dajs. This woik can be done when woik is slack and men with teams have nothing to do. The woik will be done under the dliectlon of the county commlssioneis, In a systematic order. Town Teams Avon 2ft Paiadlse 120 Hyrum IKKl Mlllville 2(H) Proi Idence 120 Sterling 10 Wellsvllle 200 College 2ft Total 1000 These teams can haul ten loads of gravel each day which would amount to ten thousand loads each day for ten dajs. Now, we don't want a little nariovv grade, six feet wide and four Inches high. We want a giude wide enough for teams to pass, and we want It no above the mud. In addition to the above teams we want a contribution from men who have money and no teams. These contributions in cash will be paid to the first volunteers with team woik. Wo will pay fifteen cents per load as far as the contributions contribu-tions go. Now my friends let us join together In a ten dajs sacrifice and make a good high-way. We have tho capital invested In teams, harness and wagons. We don't want dummy engines, en-gines, etc., becauso they cost a lot of money to buy them, and the expenso begins with their operation and continues con-tinues as long as we run them. When the sleighing Is good we can do most of this work, in fact, all of It, and our teams need the exercise. When the ten dajs arc past tho work Is done, the road Is made and the beauty of It ail, the bill is paid. No taxes, no bonds, no Inteiest u work of patriotism, sacrifice and love. We know some men wont do anything any-thing and others will pull against the work. These aie the (hones and un-patilotlcwhom un-patilotlcwhom we have to cairy along anyway so let them say their little piece and pay no attention to It. We want volunteers, The work will be done at jour own time, but dining the next twelve months. All money received and paid out will be published weekly. The names of volunteers will also be published, also when their work Is done. We want cash volunteers and also men for team woik. Tho lirst team volunteers will be paid in cash after their team work-Is work-Is done at the rate of fifteen cents per load. This will enable them to earn $1.50 per day dining the winter months when teams need exeiclse and men have nothing particular to do. Tho progress of the work, with all necessary details will bo published In all the local papers as soon as the plan Is accepted and opeiatlons begun.
