Show Fashion In Medicine.-A Medicine.-A curious communication has been made to the French Academy ot Medicine Medi-cine by Dr. Qrlmbert, who has a fondness fond-ness for statistics. The doctor has been making Inquiries with a view to flndtug out whether there Is a fashion In medicine. He has discovered that the old-fashioned medicines, such ' as opium, laudanum, Iodine and bismuth, are sold in nbout tho same quantities as they havu always been. The salo of leeches hus diminished. In 1876 50,-000 50,-000 wero sold by a certain number of Chemists' shops In Paris, but this year tho same shops sold only 12,000. The glycerophosphates and antlpyrlns sold SO per cent, less than they used to and quinine has' gone down 24 per cent. As for the newer drugs pyra-mldon, pyra-mldon, asperlne, etc. their sale has Increased enormously. |
