Show A Real Luther Coin. The collection of coins of a St. Petersburg scholar tmys the Uorltner Tagoblatt, was recently overhauled nnd n unique Luther coin was discovered, discov-ered, it catno 'originally tram Novgorod, Nov-gorod, where it was found In an old house which was being reconstructed. On one side Is the' head of Luther, which Is also shown when the. coin Is reversed, but with n fool's cap upon his head. On the roverse side thoro is a llkoness of tho pope, which"" also appears ap-pears when the coin Is reversed, but the head Is ornamented on the reverse sldo with dovll horns. Tho Latin Inscription In-scription explains that Luther becomes be-comes a fool and tho pope a devil by reversing tho plcco. It is believed that there Is no similar coin In existence. |
