At first he had many H tdumps but he never knew the M meaning of the word failure. He H was scoffed at for trying to raise- H grain, etc., without water, every H" one believing it to be an utter- H' impossibility, but ho proved his H theory and gained his point and H has for many years reaped the H benefits of his early and seeming H ly fruitless experiments.
