Show IGNORANT OF INITIAL8. "One of the strangest things to me about women," said a student of tho eternal feminine "is tiio way women may bo associated with ono another in church work or clubs and not know each other's initials. I havo known church workers who have seen ono another every week for years and years who aro abso-.lutely abso-.lutely ignorant of whether Mrs. Smith is Mrs. A. B., or C. Smith, or whether Miss Jones' first name is Maria or Daisy. Sometimes they say, 'Why, Mrs. Smith is the Mrs. Smith whoso husband is a banker, you know,' but they havo no knowledge knowl-edge of the banker's initials, I have run across cases where some club members knew only the last name of their club president, and they didn't think it at all necessary that they should know their initials. Men who are together three days soon find out one another's initials, but women wom-en seem to think seeking such knowledge knowl-edge savors of unfriendliness." |
