Show Funeral services held for Eva Topham By llilma Lamoreaux PARAGON AH- Mrs. Eva Topham, age 86 passed away Sat. afternoon in the Valley View Medical Center after being hospitalized for the week. She had suffered a fall at her home and became quite ill but was much better later after treatment. treat-ment. Her condition worsened on Fri. Funeral services are to be held on Wed. Sarah Eva Topham was born Sept. 10, 1888 in Parowan to William A. and Alice Lenora Holyoak. She attended school in Parowan and at the Branch Normal in Cedar City. When her mother passed away she 1 assumed the role of homemaker in her father's home and reared her younger brothers and sisters. Later she was employed at the State Industrial School in Ogden for twelve years. She married Thomas Amenzo Topham in the St. George Temple on March 15, 1932. and has made her home in Paragonah ever since. She was a primary worker for a number of years. Her husband died March 5, 1956. Mrs. Topham maintained her own home despite the fact that she was almost blind and cared for herself until her last illness. She had a keen sense of humor and was very independent. She is survived by a brother Clifford Evans of Parowan, three sisters, Mrs. Carmen Topham, Paragonah; Mrs. Lucile Fife, Pomona, Calif.; Mrs. Laverne Stevenson Las Vegas, Nev. and numberous neices and nephews. |
