Show February blood drawing dates announced Mrs. Betty Neff, Blood Program Chairman for the Red Cross, gave the February blood drawing dates for Cedar City. On Tuesday, February 18, the drawing will be at the Elk's Lodge from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. On Wednesday, February 19, the drawing will be at the Student Union at SUSC from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Darryl Schramm, Chapter Chairman for Iron County, will announce the recruitment program for these drawings. He said that the Blood Program with its increasing need is the Red Cross service calling for the largest allocation of its funds, both Nationally and Locally. Also locally it is the service requiring participation of the largest number of volunteers except for fund raising. In the 1973-74 program the National Red ' Cross paid $76,791,367 for the blood service, or 37.4 per cent of the total budget. Nationally 3,829,771 units of blood were voluntarily donated. "Considering the rising need for blood", Mr. Schramm said, "it is good to note that 22 percent of the total donors contributed blood for the first time". |
