Show ITO PRESENT CONCERT. Nobuko Imai, violist, will be the next guest artist to be presented by the Cedar City Music Arts Association. Concert is scheduled Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Feb. 5 at SUSC Recital Hall. Music Arts schedules noted Violist here February 5th ' Nobuko Imai, violist will be in Cedar City February third, fourth, and fifth under the sponsorship of the Cedar City Music Arts Committee. Miss Tmai win give lecture-performances featuring music to students of the Iron County School District and Southern Utah State College. Wednesday evening is slated for a concert at 8:15 p.m. in the Music Arts Recital Hall on the SUSC campus. Nobuko Imai is probably the only violist to have ever won the First Prizes of both the Munich International Viola Competition Com-petition and the Geneva International I Viola Competition. Miss Imai has appeared ap-peared with many of the world's leading orchestras, and this season she is appearing ap-pearing as soloist with the New Japan Philharmonic on its first tour to the United 1 States and Europe under Seiji Ozawa. She has toured in South America and Asia, and has performed throughout the United States with "Music from Marlboro" and with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Lin-coln Center. Edith Orloff will accompany Miss Imai on the piano. Ms. Orloff has performed extensively in California where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the California Institute of the Arts. This project is assisted by a grant provided jointly by the Utah State Division of Fine Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, Washington, D.C., a Federal agency created by Act of Congress, 19C5. ; |
