Show . 4fl fi ll STEVEN HOLYOAK AND JON ROBINSON Eagle Scouts ol Troop 341, Parowan First Ward Capacity crowd attends December Court of Honor, Brian Head district; two Eagles commissioner, announced that Troop 341, Parowan First Ward, took first place honors at the court. Willis Robinson is scoutmaster of the troop-Second troop-Second place honors went to troop 336 of the Enoch Ward. Devon Jones is scoutmaster. A new point system was In effect for the first time at the Court of Honor, and district officials stated that this new system of awarding points to units will increase activity, competition and involvement of troops within the district. The next district court of honor will be held Jan. 28, at 8 p. m. in the Parowan First-Second First-Second Ward chapel with host unit being Troop 349 of the Second Ward. The final Court of Honor of 1972, conducted by Brian Head District of the Utah National Parks Council, Boy Scouts of America, was rated the most Impressive of the past year by district officers. Newel Wasden, member of the Parowan Stake Presiden cy, conducted the special Eagle Ea-gle court of honor, held in the Parowan First Second Ward chapel. The event, held on New Year's Eve was presented pre-sented to a capacity filled audience of scouts, their parents par-ents and family members, and friends of scouting.. Host unit was Troop 341, Parowan First Ward, conducting the opening open-ing and closing ceremonies. Five out of six troops reported re-ported their past month's progress pro-gress and advancements, A total to-tal of 79 merit badges were presented during the court proceedings. The following scouts achieved progress awards:: aw-ards:: Tenderfoot, Richard Batt; Second Class, Stan Benson, 'Roger Grimshaw,; Fjrst class awards to Steven Decker, Chris Hanks, Kelly Evans, Da-vid Da-vid Warner, Mike Robinson, Kim Bess, Clayton Calloway, Tim Burroughs, Leon Nelson, Kevin Murie, Joseph Barton, Jim Culbertson, A total of 34 community service projects were completed complet-ed during the month, as reported re-ported by Senior Patrol Leaders Lead-ers of the five troops. Over 300 man hours were put into these projec ts by some 60 scouts The highlight of the district dis-trict court of honor was the awarding of two Eagle badges. bad-ges. Ward troop, were awarded the coveted Eagle, the highest achievement a young man can earn in scouting. Each young man was spotlighted before the audience for their accomplishments and a challenge chal-lenge to live and honor the Eagle Code of Ethics was administered ad-ministered by Alma Lawrence, Brian Head District Chairman.
