Show Redmen control "Board" in wins over Hurricane and South Sevier men took over control of te boards and the game in the first quarter and sailed to a 21 to 9 lead. From that point on the entire team saw action and they dominated the action ac-tion and play. Payne was the top scorer of the evening for the Redmen with 16 'points followed by Leavitt with 13. The league victory moved the Redmen into second place behind the league leading Rabbits of Delta. Delta stayed atop the field with a victory over tlie Dixie Flyers 62 to 58 at St. George. Millard was idle in league play. There's an old saying dn basketball that if you can con. trol the rebounding you can control the game. That adage proved to be true for the Cedar High School Redmen this past week as they displayed their dominance of the boards in action against Hurricane Friday and South Sevier Saturday. Friday night the Redmen picked up their second league victory of the young season with a 79-59 victory over Hurricane Hur-ricane in a game played at Cedar City. Saturday the Redmen were out of league action and an the road against South Sevier at Monroe where they picked up a 58-50 win. In both games the Redmen completely dominated the boards and in both games every ev-ery member of the squad saw action. Cdby Leavitt and Don Payne lead the scoring as well as the rebounding against the Tigers Friday night. Leavitt a sophomore wound up the evening with 21 points followed follow-ed closely behind by Payne with 19. Rdb Jenson on the guard line was aUso in double figures with 12. Starting forward David Judd suffered an ankle Injury early in the irst quarter of play and did not see action throughout the remainder of the game. Judd also kept out of the South Sevier contest Saturday. The Redmen led the Tigers by only four at the end of the first period but had opened open-ed the game wide up by half-time half-time leading 41 to 26. At South Sevier the story Was much the same.
