Show : .'.IiVJS1,-. ,, . . . officer in the Speech Communication Com-munication Association. She has traveled over 11,000 miles with the debate teams since her first trip as a freshman last year. This year she won second place in debate at the Brigham Young University tournament and was a third place contestant in senior division debate at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. "She shows great promise as a speaker," debate coach Steve Van Dyke of SUSC commented. "I wish we had several more like her with the experience she has and the growth she's shown this year." SUSC debators have fourteen tournament trophies in their first six outings this year, and the stronger teams are freshmen. "I suppose," Van Dyke grinned, "you could say our future looks fairly good." Andrea Shirts scores high in debate circles Andrea Shirts, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Morris-Shirts of Cedar City has two tournament debate trophies to her credit. She debates with Steve Bringhurst, a sophomore from Springville, Utah, for Southern Utah State College.
