Show - 1 City Council to name su ccessor for R. C. Hansen I a- i : f ff 1 I I fi j Hansen, who has served seven years on the Cedar City Council submitted a formal resignation to Mayor L. Kerry Jones this past week for reasons of health. Dr. Leslie Burbidge, chairman of the Cedar City Republican Party, announced that the central committee, in addition to representatives from each of the precincts, met and selected four names which they have recommended to the Council to fill the vacancy. Named were Ed Hahne, Willard (Bill) Lunt, Jack Whiting and Louis Webster. Mayor Jones indicated that he would recommend the Council in their session this evening, Thursday, that they name one of those four men to the position for the unexpired term of Hansen. Hansen has completed three years of a second four year term at the time of his resignation. His present term will conclude con-clude at the end of 1975 with elections selected in November for the next four year term of office. Hansen indicated that he had thoroughly enjoyed his service and that he hoped that his resignation at this time would not preclude the possibility of further service in the future. "I don't want to be shelved," he indicated, in-dicated, but felt that, on the advice of his physician, certain medical problems must be resolved before I can effectively serve in a public capacity. RKSIGNS POST. Robert C. Hansen, City Councilman for the past seven years resigned position. Council will appoint successor tonight. Cedar City Republican Party has submitted four names to the Cedar City Council to consider for the replacement of Robert C. Hansen as city councilman. |
