Show SCORES VICTORY. Kim Christensen of the Cedar High Redmen takes his man to the mat for a pin with the double arm bar combination in match against Hurricane Tigers. Redmen post mat victory over Tigers; 9 Young, 11-2 126 - Kary Laird decisioned Kevin Bettridge, 11-2 132 - Evan Matheson decisioned Lance Bettridge, 7-6 138 - Brent Goodman lost to Hardy, 6-1 145 - Scott Slack decisioned Ruesch, 6-3 155 - Alan Moss decisioned Zaleaski, 7-0 167 - Dan Jack lost a decision to Hoyt, 5-3 185 - Mark Leavitt won by forfeit. Unlimited - Joe Holmes won by forfeit. Cedar High School Redmen wrestling team posted a convincing con-vincing 40-8 win over the Hurricane Tigers in Action Thursday evening and will be poised this week to do battle against the league leading Delta Rabbits. The two teams will square off in action this evening, Thursday, in Delta. Matches will begin at 7:30 p.m. Kim Christensen got things rolling for the Redmen against the Tigers coming up with a pin in the third round and a quick 6-0 lead. Although Christensen scored the only pin, (two of the top weights won by forfeit, and seven team members won by decisions. Tightest match of the night was between Evan Matheson of Cedar and Lance Bettridge. Bettridge of the Tigers held a slim 6-5 advantage with less than a minute to go but Matheson came up with a reversal in the final two seconds of the third round to score two points and win the match 7-6. Mark Morrison scored a superior decision, 10 points or better, in defeating Ewell 12-2. The superior decision is worth four team points. Individual the results were as follows with Cedar listed first and Hurricane second: 98 - Christensen pinned Reed. 105 - Fayne Milner and Stout tied, 2-2 114 - Mark Morrison decisioned Ewell, 12-2 J: 119 - Ken Moss decisioned |
