Show CHS seek for Region Eight Crown in battle with Flyers without a struggle. It was one of the Redmen's best games of the season and Coach Hobbs feels that his crew will have to be in top form Friday night to again prevail over the Flyers. The Redman coach feels that the Flyers are one of the better clubs they have met this season. The Redmen felt that they must put a clamp on Bruce Hurst of the Flyers to win this one. Hurst poured in 28 points and pulled down 14 rebounds in the earlier loss to the Redmen. Offensively Coach Hobbs will be looking for a continued balanced offense led by Coby Leavitt at center, the Hair brothers, Steve and Mike at forwards with Robert Shirts, Scott Burns and Brad Blackner on the guard line. Traditionally the Cedar-Di xie battle is a tough one, and exciting. This one shapes up as one of the best. Coach Richard Hobbs and the Cedar High School Redmen could wrap up the Region Eight Class 2A basketball championship Friday night with a victory over arch rival Dixie. The Flyers will be invading the Redmen wigwag for an 8 p.m. confrontation that could be the biggest home game of the season for Cedar High crew. Riding atop the league standing with a, five win no loss record, including a win over the Flyers at St. George, the Redmen have a two game lead over the Flyers who sit in second place. With only three games remaining on the league schedule a win over the Flyers could assure the Redmen to repeat as the Region Eight champions. Currently the standings show Cedar with a record of 5-0; Dixie 4-2; Delta 3-3; Hurricane 1-5; and Millard, 1-4. Earlier in the season the Redmen defeated the Flyers at St. George but not , |
