Old oil is presently marketed at approximately $5.25 per barrel compared to new oil prices of around $13 per barrel. The president has vetoed congress' effort to faze in the -decontrol over a 39 month period. " Howe believes that if the control is lifted immediately that there will be an immediately increase in the cost of gasoline at the pumps. The point is, he On a more local basis Congressman Howe indicated that there is a strong possibility that the Interior and Insular Committee on Land and Water will accept ammendments to the Outdoor Recreation funding program to allow to the inclusion of covered swimming pool and ice skating rinks. Several states are supporting this concept that would make some funding available for the proposed pool complex being considered jointly by Cedar City Corporation and the Iron County School District. Allowing the enclosure concept, con-cept, which could be introduced before the end of the year, would make the Cedar City project eligible for some funding, Howe suggested. |
