Show Southern Utah men join U.S. Army -Frve v Southern- - Utah - men have enlisted in the United States Army. SSG Frank Stast-ny, Stast-ny, U.S. Army Representative in Cedar City, said that all five men selected occupations and locations to fit their personal needs. Merrill Kay Knight, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Knight of St. George, chose the $2,500 Cash Bonus and an assignment to Fort Lewis, Wash. Merrill is a '69 graduate of Dixie High Andrew Cooper Callahan, husband of the former Carolyn Sue Haynes, enlisted for training train-ing as a Military Policeman and an assignment to Fort Carson, Car-son, Colo. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Callahan of St. George. James Vincent Hollander, son cf Mr. and Mrs. William Hay nes, Sr. of St. George, selected an occupation in teletype operations op-erations and maintenance and a direct assignment to Fort Carson, Colo. Lawrence LaRue Posney, husband hus-band of the former Debra Annette An-nette Gale of St. George, enlist-ed enlist-ed for training in Manual Central Cen-tral Office Telephone Repair. He is the son of Mr. and iMrs. Landing Wray of St. George. John Steven Council, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Jessop of Hillsdaye, selected training as a teletype operator-repairman and an assignment to Fort Carson, Colo. SSG Stastny Indicated that all five men are attending basic bas-ic training at Fort Ord, Calif, and upon completion they will be sent to the respective school for their occupational training. Upon graduation they will go on to their assignments of their choice. |
