Show Projects in County considered . for bi-centennial Two projects from Iron County Coun-ty have been included in the priority list of the Utah American Ameri-can Revolution Bicentennial Commission for matching funds through the national Bicentennial Bicenten-nial office in Washington, D. C The total requests from the state organization is for nearly $40,000 in Project Matching Funds and if approved the federal fed-eral funds will match, an equal amount guaranteed for 12 projects pro-jects from non-federal sources. All 12, including the two from Iron County, have been sponsored by the Utah Commission, Commis-sion, a designation of its highest level of support. Two projects from Iron County Coun-ty would include a $1,500 request re-quest for a Southern Piute Special Library Collection at Southern Utah State College. The second request if In the amount of $3,000 for construction construc-tion of a Boy Scout Memorial Road in Parowan Canyon. The allocation of funds to the projects was based on several criteria used by the Heritage, Festival and Horizon Committees Commit-tees in supporting those programs pro-grams or activities most appropriate ap-propriate for the commemoration commemora-tion of 200 years of American Independence. |
