Show ENOCH and MIDVALLEY By Veda Matheson Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Matheson hosted an Owen Matheson family reunion on Saturday evening. There were eighty-six family members in attendance. Among those who came from out of town for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Matheson and daughter Diane from Firth, Idaho; Frank and Bernice's daughter Evelyn and her husband Ralph Hill and their nine children of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Barnard Matheson, daughter Kay Lynn, grandson David McMurdy, and a friend, John Anderson of Salt Lake; Dean Maxwell and children Debbie and Brent of Murray; Mr. and Mrs. Vernile Matheson and three of their children from California; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Baird and boys of West Jordon, and many family members from Cedar City, Midvalley and Parowan. Gordon and Bart Wankier visited over the weekend at the home of Bishop and Mrs. Ivan Matheson. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Richardson had their entire family together for the first time in many years. All ten of their children were here for the weekend and most of their grandchildren. Coral and Karen Richardson and children were here From their home in Ypsilanti, Mich., George and Eloa Battraw and children from Arizona, J. C. and Mary Heaton of Las Vegas, and Kenneth and . Carol and two boys from St. George all met with family members here for an enjoyable weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Carter enjoyed visits from their parents over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Carter were here from Minersville, and Mrs. Arlene Parkinson was here from Salt Lake. Mrs. Barbara Mae Christensen was here for the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Grimshaw, and to take her girls back home. Drex Smith was here for a visit with his relatives and former neighbors on the 4th of July. Drex is the son of Bishop and Mrs. Stanley Smith and the family were residents of Enoch. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Munson and children were here last week to visit with the Stanford Jones family. Arlen Grimshaw and part of his family were among the holiday visitors to Enoch. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Gerow and daughter Jenifer came from Provo to spend the weekend with the R. J. Christiansen family. Recent visitors at the home of DeVon and Venita Jones, have been their children Mr. and Mrs. Mike Jones and son of Ft. Ord, Calif, and Linda Jones and a friend from Provo. Corale Jackson spent last week here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Gibson. Floyde came down for the weekend. Gail and Judy Maxwell and their family made an overnight visit here with the Maxwell families and the Stankosky family. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Mathews and their children were here to spend the holiday weekend with the Don Mathews. |
