Ella Berry Leigh, 1900 graduate from the Branch Normal School, was named the ninth recipient of the DSA "given to recognize outstanding individuals in-dividuals for their contributions, service and dedication to SUSC." The award was presented Mrs. Leigh by Ralph B. Piatt, president of the Alumni Association, who told the 175 persons present that the recipient's life was one of sharing and in keeping with the 1974 Homecoming theme "A Time To Share." Mrs. Leigh is 95 years old. A watercolor by SUSC artist Glen Dale Anderson was presented Mrs. Leigh in appreciation ap-preciation for her life-long love and contribution to the college. Other DSA recipients include Hazen J. Cooley - 19G8, Stanley H. Bradshaw - 1969, Dr. Blaine H. Johnson - 1970, Grace Adams Tanner -1971, John L. Miss Seaman, won the title of Miss Congeniality in SUSC Homecoming Pageant held last week. ,111.1. LEONARD. From Cedar City, Miss Leonard was selected as Miss Personality in the 1974 SUSC Homecoming Pageant. " Lift " teOsi SUSpagent winners An Escalante coed was named Homecoming Queen at Southern Utah State College as part of 1974 Homecoming activities. Irene Alvey was named queen during the Queen's Pageant Tuesday evening at SUSC. First attendant is Lucretia Ann Gray, Manti; second attendant is Patricia Williams, Enterprise. For her talent number, the queen presented "Creations of a Small Town Girl" showing representations of her designing and sewing abilities. Miss Alvey is a sophomore at SUSC majoring in elementary education. She .was sponsored in the contest by the sophomore class. She is currently reigning as Miss Garfield County. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry S. Alvey, Escalante. First attendant is Lucretia Ann Gray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Allen Gray, Manti. Second attendant Patricia Williams is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George It. Williams, Enterprise. "Miss Photogenic," "Miss Personality," and "Miss Congeniality" awards were also presented at the pageant. "Miss Photogenic" was awarded Annette Woolstenhulme, Memphis, Tenn. A freshman at SUSC, she is majoring in general education. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Clyde Woolstenhulme, Memphis. She was sponsored by Air Force ROTC for the contest. Jill Leonard, daughter of Mrs. V'irginai Leonard Piatt, was anmed "Miss Personality" at the contest. A freshman from Cedar City, she is- majoring in elementary education. Miss Leonard was sponsored in the Queen's contest by Sigma Gamma Chi. The title of "Miss Congeniality" was awarded Sallie Seaman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Grant Seaman, Cedar City.
