Show Amateur Art exhibit to open November 19th many awards for his work among which was the Art Purchase Pur-chase Award at Utah State University. Mr. Tolman has influenced and directed , many young artists during his career. He has taught at Richfield Junior High, Woodward Junior High, Cedar City High School and is presently employed at Dixie High School in St. George, Utah. His experience and success in all fields of art make him a very competent critic for this year's amateur exhibit. Assisting Mr. Tolman in judging of the student exhibits will be Mr. Eric Brown and Mr. Kirk Poulson, two outstanding young artists at SUSC. This amateur-student exhibit is for all amateur and student artists. It is designed to give these artists an opportunity to display their work in a professional manner. The Cedar City Amateur-Student Amateur-Student Art Exhibit will open its doors to the public November 19th at 10 a.m. Entries will be judged by professional artists for cash prizes and should be delivered to the South Elementary school between 9 and 5 Saturday, Nov. 16. Entries will be accepted (even without prior notification) if delivered before 5 on that date. The professional judge for this year's amateur exhibit will be Mr. Jerald Tolman. Mr. Tolman is an excellent artist whose ' work is displayed and admired in many Southern Utah homes and public buildings. Mr. Tolman is especially known for his classical . work, in oils and water colors but his experience covers all areas of the art spectrum. Having graduated from Star Valley High School in Afton, Wyoming, Mr. Tolman attended University of Wyoming and LDS Business College before graduating from BYU with a bachelor's degree.
