The many sights on the 11 mile round trip included Indian ruins, petroglyphs, a pioneer Mormon 2-story polygamists house, steam boat mountain, an ancient cemetery, and hundreds of rustling golden cottonwoods along the Virgin River. Camping they separated into two groups. Croup A consisted of Mr. Leigh. Blaine Tew, Brad Cordon and Handy Miller. Croup B - Scott Smith", Scott Slack, David Callison, Mike Dettamauti and Bill Parks. Before the sun set. Croup A explored farther up the canyon, and filled their plastic water bottles with spring water. Croup B took a chilly swim in the river. At nightfall campfire flames warmed the backpackers, as the temperatures dipped. Mouths drooled as Mr. Leigh ate his tender T-bone steak and sliced potatoes.
