Show Irrigation workshop to be held in Cedar City On Thursday, January 29, an Irrigation Workshop will ba conducted at Southern Utah Siaie college. All farmers and others interested In irrigation from the Five County Area are invited to partclpate. The workshop work-shop is sponsored by Utah State University Extension, and the Utah State University Department Depart-ment of Agricultural and Irrigation Irri-gation Engineering In cooperation coopera-tion with Southern Utah State College. The Seminar Room In the SUSC Library is the place of the workshop. It will begin at 11:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. with a break for lunch. For those who are Interested there will also be a discussion on the weather modification program currently underway In Southern Utah. This discussion will ba in the Senate Room of the SUSC Student Center at 10:30 a.m. and will end In time for the regular workshop which begins at 11:00 a.m. John Flavin, Flav-in, Meteorologist In charge of the cloud seeding will be there to explain the program. Topics for discussion in the workshop will include, "Soil Plant, Water Relationships" and "Sprinkler Irrigation". Dr. Glen Strlngham, Dr. Paul Christen-sen, Christen-sen, and Richard Griffin from Utah State University will be the speakers. According to Lynn Esplln, Extension Ex-tension Agent for Iron County, these men are very well trained train-ed in their field and will have valuable infromation for those who attend. Mr. Esplln commented com-mented that for a number of years a State Water Users Workshop has been held in the Northern part of the State. Because Be-cause of the interest shown in the Souhern part of the State for this type of thing a workshop work-shop was also scheduled in Cedar Ce-dar City this year. He urged all those associated with Irrigation in any way to support the workshop by attending. |
