The presentation was made in connection with a special program presented by the PTSA at the Junior High School to honor his 38 years of service to youth at the school. He will retire at the end of this school year. PTSA honors Wallace Osborne for ' contribution to youth with a "little red schoolhouse" cake used as a center piece for the meeting. The PTSA is indeed grateful for the dedication of the Junior High teachers and especially for Mr. Osborne's long service and his devotion in teaching Cedar City's children all these years, Mrs. Smith stated. A special appreciation day was held this past week at the Cedar City Junior High School by the Parent, Teachers, Student Association, for the teachers and staff. Each teacher was presented with a special heart cake baked and decorated by President Bonnie J. Smith and other staff members were also presented with remembrances. A bronze plaque was presented to a very special teacher, Wallace Osborne, who has taught at the Junior High School for the past 38 years. Mr. Osborne will be retiring at the end of this school year, Osborne has been an instructor at the Junior High School since 1937 with the exception ex-ception of two years during World War II. Friends and fellow teachers applauded as a "This is Your Life" resume was read by Corrine Williams, who had gathered and prepared the material by talking to Mr. Osborne's family, friends and associates. The plaque read, "In Appreciation Ap-preciation for the many lives you have touched." The faculty and their guests were then served cake and punch and Mr. Osborne was presented |
