Show Snow Dixie Week at CHS SNOW DIXIE WEEK. Mayor Jack Sawyers signs a proclamation declaring this week as Snow Dixie Week as Cedar City High School cheerleaders watch. They are (left to right): Wendy Wood, Carolyn Lyman, Janet Matheson, Vicki Matheson, and Barbara Jones. On Friday, Jan. 26, 1979 the Mighty Cedar Redmen will face the Flyers at Dixie High School. Because of this event, the CHS cheerleaders are sponsoring week-long activities which include the Snow King and Queen contest. The royalty, which was voted on by the student body, was announced at a pep rally assembly which was held on Wednesday, Jan. 24. Each club at Cedar High was made a snow sculpture dealing with this week's theme. The winner of this contest was also announced on Wed. These sculptures are located " on the school grounds if you want to see them. To top off this week's activities, Mayor Jack Sawyers signed a proclamation declaring this as Snow Dixie Week. It reads as follows: Whereas: The mighty Cedar Redmen will battle the Dixie Flyers, Friday January 26, 1979, and. Whereas: The Cedar Redmen need to unite, in order to de-wing the Flyers and, Whereas: We need the . support of the townspeople " to win and, Whereas: Cedar has an abundance of snow, which needs to be put to creative use, so, .f- Therefore! be it resolved, that the Mapr 0f our fine city proclaim the week of January 22nd to 26th CHS Snow Week, for the sole Purpose of uniting the student body, and the townspeople to defeat Dixie. The CHS Cheerleaders encourage all the townspeople town-speople to attend the basketball game tomorrow" night in the Dixie High School Gym at St. George. Help support our REDMEN team! S.
