Show Power Issue Petition Circulated Forrest Hunter, local businessman and co-chairman of the Citizens for Fair Power organization, stated last week that he has collected 300 signatures from people on a petition which would place the question of revoking CPNational's franchise at Cedar City and a city owned power system on the city ballot next November. "I am convinced that the people in Cedar City are overwhelmingly in favor of a municipal system," said Hunter. Hunter said that only 12 people had refused to sign the petition. The Signatures of 12Vi percent of the voters who voted in the last guber- . natorial election are needed to fulfill the requirements for placing the question on the ballot. Hunter says that after the signatures are collected that the petition will be given to the City Recorder who is legally responsible for presenting it to the City Council. If the City Council rejects the petition, the City Recorder will be legally responsible for placing the question on the ballot. |
