Show Rams lose to North Sevier Wolves in the final period. Varsity contest In the varsity battle the Rams were behind from the outset and could never quite catch the talented Wolves. The Rams were trailing by six at the end of the first period, 18-12 and were down by 11 at the half, 37-26. Leading scorer for theRams was Bret Matheson with 17. Matheson came off "the bench in the second quarter to put somewhat of a scroing punch into the offense. of-fense. Pat Benson picked up 9 points for the Rams and Mike Thornton had seven. Others in the scoring column for the Rams were Dan Stones, Mike Jones, Richard Burton each with four; Dan Robinson with two and Jory Turner with one. Leading scorer on the court was Nelson of the Wolves with 19, Close behind, however, were Hallows with 16 and Kennedy Ken-nedy with 16. The Wolves really poured on the gas in the final quarter of play outscoring the Rams by 10 points to build up the one-sided victory. PAROWAN - Parowan High School Rams were on the road this past week and both the Junior Varsity and Varsity squads lost games to the Wolves of North Sevier. The Junior Varsity suffered suf-fered a 76-57 loss at the hands of the Wolves while the Varsity took it -on the chin with a 75-48 loss. In the JV encounter Mike Jones was the top scorer on the floor as he poured in 23 points, but it was not enough. Jones picked up five personnels per-sonnels in the game and did not score in the fourth quarter of play. Other Rams in the scoring column included Dan Adams with 9, Jory Turner with 7 and Doug Hermansen, Kelly Orton and Brook Bentley, each with 6. For the Wolves JV they had four in double figures including Hallows with 14, Hales with 13, Harward 12 and Madsen 11. The Ram JV took an early lead7 in the contest and were upy four points at the end of the first period. 15-11. In the second period the Wolves burst into the lead with balanced scoring and held a 30-25 lead at the half. They increased the lead in the third period by three points and added two to the margin |
