Show Alcohol credited with accidents Two accidents, both apparently ap-parently caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol, marred weekend driving in Cedar City. LaMaine Shepherd, 23, of Cedar City, was involved in a one-car accident, hitting a power pole located at 663 North Main, according to local police. Shepherd was cited for driving under the invluence of alcohol, Douglas Bolten, Chief of Police said. The accident occured at 1 a.m., Sunday morning, he said. An estimated $1200 damage was done. Also on Sunday, Aug. 29, Paul F. Hat, 45 of Modena, was cited for driving under the influence, Bolton said. Hat, driving a light truck, apparently collided with a truck driven by Craig Goodwin of Cedar City. The accident occurred at 600 North Main and ambulance units were called on the scene. Passengers in the Hat vehicle were hospitalized, Chief Bolton said, as was Goodwin. As of . Monday . morning, Goodwin was listed in fair condition at the Valley View . 'Medical Center.- The other persons receiving injuries were released. The two truck accident caused an estimated $2000 damage to both vehicles, Chief Bolton said. |
