Fortunately, many concerned k congressmen are working to keep the number of Post Office I people from decreasing even more, and to keep the privilege of enjoying the Post Office's services open to all consumers. One piece of legislation advo-i advo-i cates a substantial postal sub-' sub-' sidy, similar to that granted to i the Federal Aviation Adminis-' Adminis-' tration or the National Parks. I Although some people ' suggest the Post Office should I be made to pay its own way, the National Association of Letter Let-ter Carriers points out that no postal service in the free world comes anywhere near breaking even. Many of those legislators who care about consumers believe that the government subsidy ia the only way you can keep on getting your mail frequently and for free. |
