Show Relief Society offers Safety Course PAROWAN - Is your home safe for your children? Did you know that just a few grains of Drano can kill a child? Plan on attending Relief Society in Parowan Third Ward on Tuesday, Aug. 24th at 10:30 a.m. where safety in the home and emergency first aid will be the topic of discussion. Ms. Mary Ann Wilks, a senior at SUSC majoring in biological science and health education, will be the guest speaker and will discuss recent developments in first aid treatment of such things as poisoning, choking, burns, bleeding, and also how to assemble a good home first aid kit. Mary Ann just completed the Red Cross Advanced first aid and emergency care course during which she visited such places as the Intermountain Poison Control Center, the Venom Research laboratory at the Veterans Administration Hospital, the University of Utah Hospital, Infant care unit and burn center, and the Holy Cross Hospital emergency care facility. It should prove to be a very worthwhile meeting. |
