Winners in the annual Sophomore Sock Spree contest held Saturday at Cedar Junior High School include, in-clude, left to right: Brad Orton and Gail Morgan, third place; Darin Felix and Julie Stobber, capturing first place honors and second place winners, SuAnn Adams and Gary Olds. A special performance was made by the Masked Bandit. Theme of the dance centered around trucking with "Smokey and the Bandit" as the theme song. A special event of the evening was the appearance made by the Masked Bandit. High Blood Pressure Clinic slated concerning high blood pressure, and the importance im-portance of continued treatment. Mower said, "One of the main concerns we have is that many people on treatment for high blood pressure 'dropout' that is, discontinue taking their medication prescribed by their physician." Mower said, "we want to help those persons with high blood pressure and their families understand the importance of staying on the treatment prescribed by their physician." Family members and friends can be a great aid in helping a person stay on treatment. Anyone who knows someone with high blood pressure should attend so that they may learn to help. Morrison will explain, how many of the drugs used to treat high blood pressure work and the importance of taking your own medication and not sharing with your friends. Mrrison will also discuss some of the side effects that may occur while on certain medication for high blood pressure. Abuse of over-the-counter drugs is considerable today. Many drugs taken simultaneously will cause very harmful effects. There are also a number of over-the-counter drugs which seriously effect blood pressure. Morrison will allow plenty of time for questions and answers". A program concerning high blood pressure and drugs will be offered in Cedar City by the Southwest Utah District Health Department, Office of Community Health Education, on Tuesday, January 31st at 1:30 p.m. in the old Jr. High at 300 West and Center. (Senior Citizen Center) Speakers will include Ralph H. Mower B.S., Community Health Educator for the Southwest Health District, and Steven Morrison, registered pharmacist.
