Show In ouropinion - Commission meeting could be success, then again The fourth Wednesday of this month will be a special Iron County Commission meeting, one in which the board is having during evening hours for the convenience of county residents. There are citizens who would attend and contribute to a county commission meeting, if an alternate time other than during working hours was offered to them, the commissioners reasoned. And it might pay off. But not if no one shows up. The night meeting was set up on a trial basis--to access the interest the public has in night commission meetings. It is very doubtful that commission meetings could be set up at night on a permanent basis, due to the mass of discussion in such a limited time. But yet it might serve a worthwhile wor-thwhile purpose in "forcing" the commissioners to decide more, and "whittle" less. We urge citizens who have not . attended a commission meeting during the past year, or the past decade for that matter, to visit the commission chambers the evening of January 25 and watch the "give and take" and to give input into the decisions that are made. |
