Show Twelve try hand at open elk hunt survey shows Card questionaires concerning concern-ing the 1971 open bull elk hunt have all been returned and analyzed , by biologist with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. The return cards show that 12 hunters were afield in 1971 in pursuit of bull elk but only one person was successful. Out of the 13 hunters, three were using a ibow and arrrow. Jim Guymon, Conservation Officer for the division, stated that 1971 was the first time the Cedar Mountain unit had been opened to the open bull type hunt and had been closed clos-ed to all types of hunting for the past few years. He went on to say, 'the mountain is primarily private ground and access is a real problem. In 1971 we decided on the open bull type hunting and were quite surprised to learn that 12 hunters gave it a try". |
