Show Census statistics on county homes revealing The 1970 Census of Housing counted 3,728 housing units in Iron County, and ' 3,192 households had at least one television set (1,067 UHF-equipped), UHF-equipped), the Bureau of the Census; U.S. Department of Commerce, announced today. The figures are from the first report for Utah which presents detailed statistics on housing for each county.. The report shows that in the county: There were 538 housing units un-its with aiT conditioning (177 with room units and 361 with a central system), 2,824 units with a clothes washing machine, ma-chine, "1,204 with a clothes dryer, arid " 534" with a dishwasher. dish-washer. The 1970 population was 12,177, with an average of 3.4 persons per housing unit A total of 2,003 housing units un-its were built before 1949, 863 during the 1950's, 331 during 1960-64, and 423 within the five years preceding the April 1970 census. Utility gas Was used to cook the meals in no households, electricity In 2,665, and bottled, bot-tled, tank, or LP gas in another anoth-er 576. There were 3,458 occupied housing units with complete kitchen facilities and 3,474 with complete bathrooms, both for the exclusive use of the households. The number of bedrooms in all housing units un-its ranged from none (in 23 units) and one (in 568 units) to four or more ( in 822 units). Owners occupied 2,380 units, renters 998 units, and a total of 242 unitg were vacant year round with 30 for sale and 57 for rent.
