Show Redmen tackle ((earns Saturday Cedar High School baseball team opened the 1972 campaign cam-paign this week against the Parowan Rams at Parovvan Wednesday afternoon. Saturday the Redmen, under un-der the direction of the new mentor John Nielson will step into the big time as they take on Kearns High School in a single game scheduled to. be played at the Cedar City baseball base-ball park with the opening pitch slated at 2 p.m. From there the Redmen jump into league battles in defense of the Region Eight Receiveds will include Mati-as Mati-as Quintanilla, Dale Flanigan and Steve Jenson. Rounding, out the squad will be Mike Rice, who will see action at first and in the outfield; Doug Watson and Dennis Alger, both vieing for the third base spot Bob Piatt, who will see action at first and in the outfield; Rod Cos- ' slett, shortstop and outfield; Brad Lambeth, first and outfield out-field and Kris Kupfer and Brent Hunter, both outfielders. In addition to their mound duties Roberts will probably see action at shortstop. Adams will also be trying to make it as a first sacker and Flanigan and Cox in addition to trying for catcher and pitch, respectively, respect-ively, will also be vieing for the second base position, Nielsen Niel-sen indicated. crown which they won last year.
