Show T-Bird trackmen enter Weber meet Track and field team at Southern Utah State College will travel to Ogden this week to participate in a seven-way meet hosted by Weber State College. Other schools participating in the meeting slated for Saturday, Sat-urday, April 1 are host Weber State, Ricks, Snow, College of Eastern Utah, Dixie and Mesa College of Colorado. Coach Steve Lunt and his crew hope to score well in the meet and are looking for top performances by Roger Cowan in the high jump; to Bill Norton in the sprints; Ben Davidson in the 880; Mark Richtsteig in the 440, Carl Cochrane in both the shot put and discus. The T-Eirds opened the season sea-son last week and three new SUSC records were established. establish-ed. Cowan high jumped 6-5Va for a new record and Cochrane tossed the shot put 43-8'i and the discus 136-1 3.4 for new school records. Next home meet for the T-Birds T-Birds will be April 15 when the SUSC thinclads will host a six-way meet, Coach Lunt indicated. |
