Show Burglars fooled by safe in Parowan Mercantile There is nothing as exasperating exas-perating to burglars as to break into a store, find the safe, and break it all up, bore holes in it and knock all of the knobs off it, and then not get into it to get the money inside it. That is what happened hap-pened at the Parowan Mercantile Mer-cantile last Wednesday night. Store owner Bryce Adams is of the opinion that the burglar burg-lar or burglars spent upward of two or three hours in the store. They gained entrance by way of the door at the rear of the meat department by breaking the glass and putting an arm in and slipping slip-ping the bar. Once inside they took their time in breaking up the safe to the extent of up to $150 damage, but it held them out They then took what change there was In the tills, being careful not to touch a check. They then had lunch in the store, then departed, taking tak-ing two high powered rifles and a chain saw with other minor items.. So far no clue has been found to help to apprehend ap-prehend the culprits. In the meantime some local businessmen are wondering where the city night cop was during the time the burglary was in progress. |
