Show Need for services in Iron County detailed by Div. of Family Services The Division of Family Services Ser-vices for the State of Utah would like to make known to the residents of Iron County some important needs in the area of child welfare. Three specific phases of the program were discussed by a spokesman of the Social Services Ser-vices including Day Care, Foster Fos-ter Care and Shelter Care. Each is detailed, as follows: Day Care: Day care is' the program of licensed babysit- final program this is badly needed in Iron County is that of Shelter Care. This service is where a home is approved by the Division as a place where children can b'e placed for care on a temporary basis Many times, young children, as well as teen-agers are in need of temporary care for one reason or another - either through the juvenile court or through the Division of Farn-. ily Services. For this program there is also a rate of pay per child in Shelter Care to cover the costs : of such care. In becoming a day care provider pro-vider it is necessary that a person be licensed. At the present pre-sent time there is a real need for licensed day care providers in IronCounty. Day Cafe Is set up on a regular pay scale for children Involved. - Foster Care: Foster care of children is a very important program in child welfare. This is where a family takes in a child who needs a home and in some cases prcper guidance and undertsanding. To those involved in this program it has been very rewarding as a family service to the community commun-ity and to the children. In becoming a foster parent, par-ent, it is necessary to meet the standard set up by the Division of Family Services. Financial help is given for a foster child in the home which will cover his expense to the family. Shelter Care: The third and |
