Show SCS captures MAC goK ffilb Northern Colorado with 661's Orchard indicated that scores scor-es were held down in the com-petition com-petition over the extremely long Paradise Course and high winds. Southern , Colorado State walked off with first place honors in the Rocky Mountain Moun-tain Atheltic Conference Golf championship held early this week at Paradise Valley Coun-try Coun-try Club in Las Vegas, Nev. and hosted by Soutehrn Utah State College. Brent Orchard, SUSC Coach and tournament director announced an-nounced that the SCS clulb shot a 641 for the four man team 36 holes of competition. Medalist honors went to Rick Podst of SCS. who came in with a 146 over the 36 holes. hol-es. A young SUSC club finished sixth in the competition, a big jump from 14fch place iri last year's tournament SUSC club fired a team score of 669. Low score was carded by Jeff Carr with a 166 followed by Tom Higbee with a 167 Winn Young with a 170 and O'Neal Brereton with a 172. Larry Le-Frentz Le-Frentz carded rounds of 80 and 84 for a 164, but was disqualified dis-qualified for signing a faulty score card. Second place honors in the conference tournament went to Western States with a 656 followed by Washburn University Uni-versity of Kansas with a 659.
