Show I LETTERS TO THE EDITOR for the curb and gutter with the understanding the other work would be done. Ve have the paving curb to curb but no lights. The curb and gutteT cost worked a real hardship on-several on-several people and I feel they have been doubled crossed if no lights are Installed. I am very concerned about the snow removal if the State albandons this load for the city hasnt the equipment to remove a heavy snow and it should all be pushed off to protect the oil paving. My understanding at the meeting was the City Council would decide what is best for everyone so I will toss In one memo. Putting a stop on main street going south would put a man out of business who has spent 75 thousand dollars to build up something that was an eyesore. Lets show a little loyalty to someone other than skiers. J. W. Moore Dear Editor of Record: It is no secret that pressure has been put on the State Road to try and keep Cedar Canyon road open to Brian Head, but it can't be done. Now I wonder If this pressure pres-sure is being sw itched to build a high speed road through Parowan back to Cedar. - - The proposal presented at a Public Meeting showed a high speed curve leaving the canyon with stops on all roads crossing this highway including includ-ing main street This section of road receives heavy use on weekends during three months of the Ski season. The other nine months travel trav-el is up Parowan Canyon and down Cedar way or up Cedar Canyon and down Parowan way going north. My question is why disrupt the natural flow of traffic in Parowan tpr twelve months while assuming everyone using us-ing Parowan Canyon is in a hurry to get back to Cedar. A big thing is being made of the two block offset in Parowan, Par-owan, but no one is forced to do this if they want to go straight through. This road is black topped and needs some repair but it also is through a residential area and should require a 30 mile speed limit, I doubt very much of the west second south road is ready for use this winter so why the big push to change east second south. , I think We should wait one season after the freeway is opened and we Will know more what needs to be done. Now regarding our Center street highway, we were promised prom-ised full street paving and street lights If we would put in curb and gutter. I thought I was representing the City when I was asked to get all property owners to sign a paper agreeing to pay |
