Show Douglas E. Miller, former resident, Dies in California A native and former resident of Parowan, Douglas E. Miller, I 75, of North Hollywood, Calif, died at a hospital there on May 11 as the result of a stroke. Well-known to many older residents of the community, commu-nity, he was born here on Sept. 1, 1896 a son of Robert A. and Susie Meeks Miller. He married Josie Bird, Ma.ch 1921 here They moved to California where he was a long-time employee em-ployee at Santa Anita and the Hollywood Park race tracks. He was a member of the LDS Church and a veteran' of World War I. He is survived by widow; sons, Douglas E. Jr.; John B., both of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; ! three grandchildren and the , following half-brothers and sisters: Frank and Jess Mick- , elson and Mrs. Bessie Stubbs of Parowan and Lorene Holm of Provo. Funeral services and burial took place Monday at Kanosh In Millard County. Attending the services from Parowan were Mr. and Mrs.. Frank Mickelson, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Mickelson, Bessie Stubbs and Lawana Tullis. |
