Show PHS dramatic dept. reaches new high in Friday play Another very successful entertainment en-tertainment was presented to the public by the Parowan High School last Friday evening eve-ning with the auditorium almost al-most filled by an appreciative audience. This time it was the presentation of the play "The Miracle Worker" by the drama dra-ma department, with Mrs. Max Hendrickson ,as the director. dir-ector. This tender human and sometimes turbulent story of the early life of Helen Keller was presented by the well trained group of students, in an almost professional way. As the result of the training Miss Keller, deaf, dumb and blind from infancy, grew up to be one of the noted women of our country. While the entire cast did a wonderful job in presenting the story, the leading characters char-acters were outstanding in their portrayals of Miss Keller Kel-ler and those people who had most to do with her early life. And they were aided by an appropriate use of the large stage which was made into the entire home of the southern south-ern family. The costumes also al-so reflected on the period in which the story unfolded. The fine use of the lighting effects possible In the new auditorium auditor-ium enhanced the production. produc-tion. All in all, the director, her assistants and the players, did a very fine job with a very fine story. |
