Show Good bass fishing now at Lake Powell Bass are biting at Lake Powell according to Wildlife Resources officer Larry Fields who claims the fish are off schedule this year. Fishing was slow at Lake Powell until the last few days when 2-3 pound . bass began wholesale attacks on salamanders and rubber worms. Creels are filling from the dam to Escalante Creek and beyond. i Spring and fall are normally the best times to catch Lake Powell bass but they seem to be making their own schedule this year. "Something like this happened hap-pened a few years ago," officer of-ficer Fields said, "and they kept on biting all summer." He wouldn't predict how long this year's good bass fishing would last but thought it might carry through the 105 degree Lake Powell summer. Fields notes that Powell trout fishing is poor, catfish angling is picking , up, and crappie fishing Is fast. |
