Show Appropriate rites held in Paragonah tor nation's birthday By Hilma Lamoreaux Independanco Day was appropriately ap-propriately observed in Paragonah Para-gonah with a sunrise flag ceremony, a public meeting, children races and fish pond and a food sale followed by films. Bishop .Myron Abbott was master of ceremonies for the meeting which featured Mr. and Mrs. Leslie- Topham as "Uncle Sam" and "Goddess of Liberty" and Klea Abbott as "Miss Utah". Gaylonl Robb was the speaker. Mrs. Lenna Mae Judd and Milo Stones gave readings, Mrs Hazel Jean Robinson and Mrs. Melva Barton played instrumental instru-mental music, there were songs by Mrs. Zelma Robb and her family and by the Misses Wendy and Holly Robinson and Peggy Lamoreaux, Lamor-eaux, Jackie Stones did a dance and there was a flag drill and a dance by a group of young girls. Community songs were under the direction direc-tion of D. A. Stones and Kenneth Ken-neth G. Topham was the chaplain. chap-lain. Proceeds from the food sale were to go to the Ward Building Build-ing Fund. |
