Show Christmas Lighting committee is planning to call a work meeting right away to take down the strings of lights on the main street. Lions Club Initiates New Member At First 1969 Meet The members of the Parowan Paro-wan Lions Club gathered in the student center of the high school last Thursday evening for their regular luncheon meeting with Parowan Cafe catering the luncheon accord- . ing to Ramon Bentley. I One of the first items of . business to bo taken care of was the installation-of Wayne i Warren as a member of the club. Lion President O. K. Nielsen sponsored Mr. Warren. War-ren. It was brought to the club member's attention that the state highway department now exacts a small fee for placing club signs along the approaches to all cities and towns, and that the Parowan club will have to pay this fee whether the signs are on public pub-lic or private property. The members voted to pay this fee and also to improve the signs they now have on each side of the city. Max Dalley reported on the progress of the Bantam basketball bas-ketball program which is now getting under way. Two teams from here, one of which is sponsored by the Lions Club are entered in the league with several Cedar City teams and regular play is to be held each Wednesday night in Ce-1 dar City.
