Cedar City Redmen with a pah- of wins and a loss to their record in the Dixie Divi-' Divi-' sion basketball race will tnk. on the Hurricane Tigers on 'their home court Friday evening to wind up the first ihaif .of play. The Tigers currently hold a 1 and 1 record with a victory vic-tory over Dixie on their home court and a defeat at I the hands of Kanab at Ka-nab. Ka-nab. The game is slated for 7 p. m. in the Cedar City High , Gymnasium owing to a conflict con-flict with -the Allege of ,. Southern Utah the same night. CSU has moved its game back to 9 p. m. to give fans an opportunity to see both games. The Redmen's win this , week over Dixie on their, home court should place themj in the favorites role in this i game. They performed well as the underdog last week, but should be ahle to keep their momentum going this week against the Tigers. Possibly the Redmen can thank the Hurricane crew for their victory over the Flyers last week. Dixie, highly rated as the league season opened, went down to defeat in their open? ing battle 51 to 44 in an overtime against Hurricane and that defeat possibly opened the way for other teams to beat the Flyers. Hurricane will be tough and the battle could be another an-other top notch contest in the close battle for honors this season. Dixie will be at Enterprise in the other league game and the Kanab Cowboys, holding down iirst place honors with a 3 and 0 record, will be idle in league play. |
