Show IN CEDAR VALLEY BRIDGE County Road Dept. Installs Big Concrete Beams The largest prestressed eon-cret eon-cret beams ever to be used in a bridge construction in Utah are being placed in an Iron County bridge in Cedar Valley near the Iron County Road of the hugh beams, which are 104 feet 4 inches in length and weighing in excess of CO tons each, are being placed for a bridge over Coal Creek on the county road in that area, Jack Pace, county road supervisor is in charge of the construction.. . The beams were manufactured manufac-tured by the Buehner Compan-y Compan-y in Murray and installation is being accomplished by the use of two large cranes which were shipped from Salt Lake City to handle the project. Engineering assistance on the new bridge was provided by the Southern Utah District office of the Utah Highway Department and federal funding fund-ing assistance has been provided pro-vided for the project through the secondary system program of the government.
